Ebadon Island is at the extreme northwest corner of Kwajalein Atoll, about 70 miles or so from Kwajalein Island. A friend of mine with a pilot's license and access to the flying club's small Cessnas sometimes let me ride along on his trips around the atoll. One day we flew to Ebadon to take supplies and visit some of his Marshallese friends there.
This is an old derelict freighter that had been stuck for years on the north reef, just east of Ebadon.
I'd be lying if I said that it wasn't a thrill coming in for a landing on Ebadon! It's sort of like landing on a large aircraft carrier!
As Marshall Islands go Ebadon is fairly big, this photo probably shows about half of it.
Ebadon's coral runway
The terminal at Ebadon International Airport, where the friendly Marshallese came out to greet us and to welcome us to their island.
Some Marshallese kids on Ebadon.
This Marshallese man was quick to offer up some fresh, cool coconut milk.
There weren't many houses on Ebadon, this was the best looking dwelling I saw there.
