This was the first "Post Challenger" Launch of a Space Shuttle.  Discovery's payload for this mission was a TDRS-C (Tracking and Data Relay Satellite).

For these photos I used a Nikon FM2 camera attached to a Meade 2045 telescope, equivalent to a 1000mm telephoto lens.

This is my official NASA vehicle pass, which allowed me to view the launch from within Kennedy Space Center.
